8th Grader Busted for Buying Sweet Contraband

An 8th grade honors student and class vice president in Connecticut has been stripped of his title and suspended after buying Skittles from a classmate.

The school system has stood by its actions citing the school system's ban on candy sales since 2003.

The school system was nice enough to reduce Michael's suspension from 3 days to 1, but has not restored his title.

ASSESS this news: BLOCK this news. Reason:
Just read this on CNN, absolutely nuts to suspend students from buying candy... they got enough problems that they can't keep up with, drugs, weapons, grades, ect and they are now worried about sweets... absurd.

  Just Stupid,
I'm sure they have troubles with gangs, violence, drugs, students failing classes, and they bust, apparently, one of the top students in the school for Skittles?

Oh and Bala_MT:

I don't get what was wrong with the heading. Should I have capitalized all the words?

"Superintendent Reginald Mayo said Wednesday the principal was just trying to keep students safe, but he would review the decision to suspend Michael."

Because we all know what a bag of Skittles can do to you.

  Yeah well
Today it's the skittles, tomorrow he could be dealing M&Ms. C'mon people, where will it end? Maltesers? This kid is the puppet of the organised crime gangs.

Skittles are a gateway drug that will lead to these poor innocent children selling themselves on the street for a handful of Humbugs. They could be sucking Lifesavers right now on a streetcorner near you.
