Danish Women Win the Right to Swim Topless

Denmark: The Topless Front, a group campaigning for bare chested men and women to be treated equally, has won a major victory with the Copenhagen Culture and Leisure Committee voting to allow women to swim and walk around topless at swimming pools.

The victory is a result of a year of campaigning. The group drew inspiration from similar protests in Sweden. (SN reported) One Swedish protest leader wants breasts desexualised to the point women can "pull off [their] shirts at football matches."

"I cannot understand what some people find so offensive about women's breasts. This decision is important in order to stop the idea that women's bodies are only sex objects," said Frank Hedegaard from the Socialist People's Party.

The source has an image of a woman wearing only a bikini bottom shot from behind. I consider this SFW as you don't see anything more than you would in shots of a backless dress at a formal function. That being said, if you have a workplace that is particularly anal retentive about such things you might want to skip this source. I couldn't find a source without images. The Sun was unusable as a source as it had images of a number of women exercising this right and they weren't shot from behind.

  W00t!

I totally agree with this decision ;). Seriously who could disagree? What's the worst that can happen? Not sure why people think that the human body is something offensive. It's just flesh people...

@ixuzus

Hehe where I work there is no such thing as NSFW we host some of the biggest porn sites (some in Alexa top 500)! =)

Are these people retarded? Sure women deserve equal rights, but do they honestly believe they will EVER be able to "desexualize" breasts? Idiocy.

  imagine

some older women taking off their shirts at a sports match, jumping up and down and twirling around... black eyes and folks knocked out everywhere... deadly weapons when they get to a certain length!

  We've had this in law

for several years now in Canada, and it's really not a big deal; usually some topless butch
dykes at the gay pride parades, but apart from that, I haven't seen a downward spiral of
society as a result. Sadly, pretty well all of the women here want to keep their tops on. ;)

  ah well

Scandinavian women have increasingly become less inclined to bare their breasts ever since the Internet became popular- can't blame them, I guess. But, I do weep silently when I go to beaches in Sweden when the only topless women are 70 years old. *oogh*

Probably because instances like the Iraqi guy (I think?) at I think U of T (I think?) groped some chick in the elevator and yeah....

Since we men can't seem to respect the breasts we shouldn't be able to see them

However I do :D

  Well

when I use the changing rooms at the gym, I see loads of women taking their tops off. The only problem is, it seems that the older we get, the more likely we are to feel comfortable walking around naked/partially naked, so from what I've seen in there, I'm glad we don't have this law here in the UK!

Seriously, who wants to see an overweight woman in her 60s flashing large, sagging, wrinkled breasts with large, brown hairy nipples? No thanks!

My apologies to anyone that may now be blind from my cruel posting of a topless woman that appeared to be about 140 years old.

I will never commit such reckless sins again!

Instead... enjoy these pictures of boobies seen at the seaside:
