Wanted: Marijuana Smokers For University Study

At the University of Iowa, a group of scientists are looking for people to smoke pot as part of a study to help gain some ideas concerning marijuana's effect on brain function using brain imaging studies and achievement tests as a guide.

Robert Block, associate professor of the universities Department of Anethesia, said the scientists are looking for both pot smokers, and people who don't smoke pot, but may consume alcohol and tobacco for the study.

Subjects will get $20 for an initial screening, with $600 for their full participation. The findings might be used to support whether marijuana should be decriminalized, used for medicinal purposes, or if harsher criminal penalties should apply.

  Their study will find out
No one will O.D. from smoking pot. Their group will either pass out from smoking or eating too much. They will find out the drinkers will get into fights while the pot smoker will chill on the couch.

  everyone should watch..
the movie that just came out called Supper High Me. Its the same creators of super size me, but this time with smoking pot constantly. Apparently they find smoking pot greatly increased sperm count and raises IQ.

It's not the same creator as Super-Size Me, but a badly-done rip-off. It's not even completed yet.

  Many Did A Study
Years ago. Gave monkeys thc then removed their brains and put them in a blender. the result of the study: cellular damage to the brain cells.

This study was used to help justify the war on pot.

Thnx for the site. I guess PDX Oregon (notorious for the herb) has it showing at most theaters already. Read a review in the paper on it. I don't know why they would release something that isn't even finished.
  by: Vhan     04/14/2008 01:02 AM
hopefully they'll come around and make it legal again
by: Devil Duck     04/14/2008 05:35 AM
What the hell?

Why don't they just go outside and shout: "who wants some free weed?"

They'll have enough people in 5 minutes.

' Along the way, we follow Doug as he goes out on the road to stand up gigs across the country and hangs out with fellow comedians Sarah Silverman, Bob Odenkirk and Patton Oswalt.'

sounds very scientific, vhan.

  comon now
I have not even seen the movie. Just putting something I read out there. From looking at the preveiws I wouldn't say this is very scientific as well.
I guess you have to go see it for yourself to find out.
  by: vhan     04/15/2008 02:00 AM
