As the flag of St.George flies over Downing Street a rather more sinister picture has been painted by Brussels. EU officials have produced a map where the country and the channel are no longer shown. Instead chunks form "transnational regions".
The plan, known as INTER-REG places bits of the UK into regions alongside other EU countries. Each region will be governed by a "managing authority" none of whom are elected or based in the UK.
Each region will be awarded taxpayers money which will go to the managing authorities. The EU flag will be flown at least 1 week every year.
The map does not contain the words "England" or "Britain" and renames the English Channel.
