Driver Follows SatNav Directions Straight Into River

A mini-bus driver has had a nasty surprise after he followed the directions of his satellite navigation system straight into a river. The mini-bus is owned by a Taxi company and the driver was on his way to collect some passengers.

The taxi company said: 'The driver told us he was following his sat nav and, when it told him to carry straight on, he did, even though it was taking him along the river.' His car was retrieved and his being examined by mechanics.

  WTH ??

What is with these people? This is becoming a regular trend, to follow GPS into a river, over a cliff, off a bridge!! Do these drivers put the damn thing between their eyes and the windshield then forget about LOOKING WHERE THEY ARE GOING !!

Good gawd, looks like big bro will have to step in on this one an create license for SatNav, as ignorance is reigning and one of these days it's going to start costing the lives of OTHER people (if it hasn't already).

Sorry about the rant, I just find human stupidity rampant these days, I think I'm growing intolerant.

  LOL

Streamline Taxis... sweet sweet irony!

Seriously though, this is like when you're a kid... "but mum, it wasn't my fault, he told me to do it"... to which the mother would reply "so if he told you to jump off a cliff, would you?"...

"um, no, but if my sat nav told me to do it, then I would!"

Idiot!

I was was going down a merging lane onto a double-laned highway with barriers separating the opposite flows of traffic & my satnav told me to do a U-turn into on-coming traffic

  Are we sure...

... this is a serious news report and not someone reporting about a dream they had based on an episode of the USA version of The Office?

My first time trying to link on shortnews. OK. Well search wiki or the web for a synopsis on the The Office(US) episode named "Dunder Mifflin Infinity".

I will admit that my GPS has tried to kill me too!

Many times at that. Each time of course I see the obstruction. It tried to get me to drive through a wall, a fence and a one way street!

I swear its out to get me!!!

  Can't be bothered.

Too lazy to read a map? SatNav!
Too lazy to cook? Maccas!
Too lazy to think? TV!
Soon you will be too lazy to breathe.
