26-year-old Lamar Perry was arrested Tuesday for the beating death of his girlfriend Tiffany Lacy's 4-year-old son, Jahmaurae Allen. Ms. Lacy had left Mr. Perry alone with two of her children while she took a third child to hospital for an illness.
Three sources indicated that
Child Protective Services had been made aware of possible abuse in June, but Jahmaurae was not removed from the home. The social worker thought large bruises on the boy could have been made by a 3-year-old sibling.
Jahmaurae is Sacramento's fifth child abuse and neglect homicide this year, and the fourth that was previously known to CPS. The county is conducting an investigation and would not comment at this time.
