Craigslist Loses Battle to Protect Seller's Identity... by Default

In February of this year, a Craigslist.com seller going by the name Daniel listed a pair of tickets to this year's Oscars, asking $2500 each. However, the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences says that doing so is prohibited.

The listing prompted lawsuits against Craigslist.com in an effort to learn the identity of the seller. When the date of the hearing came, attorney's for Craigslist.com failed to show, allowing for a default judgement in favor of the Academy.

Now the Academy is to issue a lawsuit against the seller in hopes of learning who bought the tickets. They claim that not knowing the identity of attendees puts security of the event at risk, and non-invited guests are considered to be "trespassers".

  Idea

Heres a great idea to stimulate the economy! blow up the oscars! people won't watch movies spending their money on local small businesses! the spoiled now-very-rich kids of celebrities will blow all their cash, buying the goods required to give the economy a boost.

lol.

In an unusual murder investigaion, the Academy of Motion Pictures is the number 1 suspect. It is believed that they wanted to keep hoodlums out of the Academy Awards, however, in doing so, they've become the hoodlums themselves.
