Doctors Concerned About "Designer Vaginas"

Doctors in Australia, United States and Britain as well as The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists are expressing concern about clinics that are performing vaginal cosmetic surgery.

They feel the clinics may be taking advantage of women who actually need psychological help instead of a surgery that is expensive, dangerous, and just plain unnecessary. The surgery can cost upwards of $10,000.

The college states "The real risks of potential complications such as scarring, permanent disfigurement, infection, dyspareunia and altered sexual sensations should be discussed in detail with women seeking such treatments."

Yeah, women need to quit comparing their 'who whos' to the air-brushed models in Playboy. "Run what you brung", ladies.

  This is way over due...

I have been worried about this continuing without investigations.

Thank God they are getting this across now!

Well said! Besides I never felt one I didn't like. Who's looking anyway?

If You Are Worried About What They Think

about your personal shape.

Worry more about who you choose to see.

  Truth be told:

It's hard to find a pretty sexual organ.
I don't think was this ever supposed to be. Unless of course, it's on display.

So, if you're a prostitute that does porn, then of course you'll change your body to make money. Implants, botox, hair color, heavy makeup... what ever it takes to cash in on the only money maker you have.

A rapper once said that he wanted his woman to be a lady when he took her out but a whore in the bedroom. Therefore, I think that whole designer vagina thing (implants also) has more to do with mens' desires that feminine freedom.

I'm Looking! but I agree with you.

Most women who have this surgery do so because their labia minora obscures their cleft of venus (aka camel toe). They have portions of their labia minora removed so that their labia majora completely covers the vaginal opening, forming a "camel toe" or cleft of venus.

I think camel toes are overrated!!! I'd rather have a mouth full of labia minora than have to dig through the labia majora to find the sweet spot.

I disagree that its hard to find a "pretty" sexual organ. I think most vaginas are pretty and I can't recall one I thought was ugly. However, I've seen all kinds of deformed penises in amateur porn.

  It's funny

This is totally wrong while penis enlargement surgeries are fine?
From what I understand, men suffer almost all the same complications when undergoing the male version of this procedure.

I really don't understand the double standard here.

You're right! They didn't come up with the phrase "Bump Uglies" for no reason at all. Having said that Once hormones kick in I haven't seen one I didn't like either...

I am glad they are showing concern.

I am glad they are showing concern for this kind of
surgery.

I relate to what they are saying about psychological
issues needing to be dealt with instead of opting for
going under the knife. When I was quite young I
was for some reason very self conscious of my labia
and what they look like. At the time this surgery
would have appealed to me and I probably would
have been able to convince a doctor to sign off on it
too, but now that time and experience has given
me way more important things to think about other
than being self conscious about things that other
people either don't notice, or don't care about.

  Pondering

"They feel the clinics may be taking advantage of women who actually need psychological help instead of a surgery that is expensive, dangerous, and just plain unnecessary."

Isn't this the same for people who have obviously lost their mind proven by their addiction to cosmetic surgery?

Do you think this person is 'happy' now?

but...who's job is it to tell someone that they're crazy and can't do what they think will make them happy? Even if you inform them of the risks, costs and everything, you're still imposing your beliefs and standards of normal behavior on them.
I'm not saying that its wrong, but I know you can't take away people's rights....even the right to be stupid.

  What? No pictures?

"I think camel toes are overrated!!! I'd rather have a mouth full of labia minora than have to dig through the labia majora to find the sweet spot. "

That's a lot of detail. I'll take them as they come. I'm not that picky. But, a good camel toe is a pretty sight.
