Italian Prime Minister Censors Painting; Covers Breast

Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi chose a reproduction of the painting "Truth Revealed by Time" as the backdrop for his press conferences at his residence, Palazzo Chigi. The painting by Giampbattista Tiepolo displays a woman's nude breast.

However, Berlusconi has been accused of prudery by the Italian press after the breast was digitally covered with a gauze tunic. Italian papers are drawing an analogy to the 16th century Vatican censorship of frescoes by Michelangalo.

Berlusconi's spokesman said female staff requested the "re-touching", however some staff at the residence said the breast could "offend the sensibilities of some people."

What is happening to the world? Everyone is self-destucting over the most trivial crap. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that painting. Where are these brain-dead prudes coming from?
