Panasonic Lifewall Will Turn Walls Into Interactive Televisions

Panasonic has developed a room-sized television platform, Lifewall, where the screen is literally floor-to-ceiling. You-Know-Me technology is incorporated, which involves some of the most interactive viewing to date.

The interactiveness of Lifewall consists of face and gesture recognition for navigation and comfort levels. For example, the distance between the viewer and the wall determines the size of the screen they are watching.

The interface is said to take some practice to master, and is not slated for commercial production for at least five years.

  Don't get me wrong

I'm into technology etc but when will they produce television worth watching? I guess as long as there is money to be made. In the doom and gloom of economics lately why the heck would they develop somethig that will make debt larger cause everyone will want one and of course the plastic fantastic will get a work out!

  I don't want one...

It sounds way over the top to me!

I try to hide my viewing box because I see it as an eye saw, no matter how up to date it is I do not want a television being the center of my life.
Keep it for the cinemas.

  TV wallpaper

This would be a great way to do up a room in the house. Floor, walls, ceiling... the first step towards your very own holodeck!

Perfect. I would totally turn mine into a holodeck.

  In my day

We had projectors... oh wait - we still do!

Ok, granted you cant wave your arm at it without casting a shadow, but I can put it where I want without loosing the largest wall space in the house.
Unless it can be wound up when done?
