Lance Armstrong May Skip Tour de France

US cycling champ Lance Armstrong has said that his comeback to racing may not include the Tour de France, afterall. Armstrong confirmed that he will be racing in the Giro d'Italia for the first time, after relaunching his career in Australia.

In an interview on an Italian web site, Armstrong said: "There is the possibility that the Giro is the only three-week stage race that I will run. Still today, there are doubts over the Tour de France."

During his career, the Tour de France was something he focused on exclusively. He won it a record seven times. Tour organisers have not replied to Armstrong's enquiries about whether or not he could race.
