Vice President nominee Sarah Palin has publicly supported the move to federally ban gay marriage in a Christian Broadcasting Network interview. This contradicts John McCain's belief that the states should decide whether or not homosexuals can marry.
Palin voted for a state ban on gay marriage in Alaska in 1998, and hopes to pass a federal law banning them nationwide. John McCain did vote against gay marriage in his home state of Arizona, but believes that a federal ban would usurp states powers.
Palin also claimed that religion had been "mocked" during the campaign, and reaffirmed her message of Obama "palling around with terrorists."
