Palin Conflicts with McCain on Gay Marriage

Vice President nominee Sarah Palin has publicly supported the move to federally ban gay marriage in a Christian Broadcasting Network interview. This contradicts John McCain's belief that the states should decide whether or not homosexuals can marry.

Palin voted for a state ban on gay marriage in Alaska in 1998, and hopes to pass a federal law banning them nationwide. John McCain did vote against gay marriage in his home state of Arizona, but believes that a federal ban would usurp states powers.

Palin also claimed that religion had been "mocked" during the campaign, and reaffirmed her message of Obama "palling around with terrorists."

Nothing scares me more than the possibility of a "President Palin." That would put us back in the dark ages.

  @mr. wright
I can't believe that this woman is in charge of anything. She has to be the most out of touch person in the US.

Palin would have made a great bigoted president during the 1950's and 1960's. I'm sure she would have fought so hard to keep civil rights out of the reach of blacks, as a good little racist and/or bigot should.

Here I thought Conservatives like states rights.

Haha, Palin.

  Big Government Republicans!
They say they hate big government. But in fact they want the government so big that it can spy on everything. It is so invasive that they even want to know what sexual positions each person likes!

Think Im joking. Take a look at the NSA wire tapping scandal that just broke where agents were listening in on phone sex!!!

As was mentioned previously :states rights. And secondly if she was talking a few years ago she would probably be against the womans right to vote also. Mr Wright thanks for the nightmare of a President Palin yikes!

Don't worry honey we're not mocking religion, we're mocking you. ;p

speak for yourself, religion is for morons!

If you can't actually provide answers...
...then attack your opponent. No matter how much they have proven you are wrong, just cling to the same fearmongering rhetoric, shout ludicrious accusations at them, and try to intimidate the general public into voting for you "or else".

Are McCain and Palin actually running seperate campaigns at this point?
  by: lĀ“anglais     10/21/2008 05:55 AM
I dunno, but that would be either a really good tactic, or a really bad one. Watch people write in Palin for president, lol.

Republicans have a tendency to hear only what they want to. Now they have 2 different voices to filter their information through.

My missus and I have been having the same sex for years ..

I'm very much against gay marriage...

...that's why I don't do it. It doesn't affect me in any way.

I love how idiots think gay people getting married will somehow ruin their own marriage. The only way gay marriage affects you is if you're gay and trying to get married.
  by: erasedgod   10/21/2008 06:18 PM
Agreed. The only people that dont like the idea of gay people having equal rights are the same types of people that just 40 years ago would partake in lynch mobs against blacks!

I think Palin may make my head implode.
At the VP debate there was a gay marriage question. I don't remember exactly how it went, but it was something like...

Moderator: 'gay marriage, what's the deal?'
Biden: 'I think civil unions and marriage should be the viewed the same under the law. Joint ownership of property, visitation rights........'
Palin: 'We can't change marriage! That's the church not government.'
Moderator: 'What about civil unions?'
Palin: 'Oh I support those.'

There are two changes we are all going see in our life time (I hope). Gay marriage legitimized nation-wide and the legalization of marihuana. I agree with erasedgod. The way some people react to this issue, it's like they think they will be forced into a same-sex marriage.

  worse yet
is how they leap from homosexuality into beastility... as if the two were comparable.
  by: HAVOC666     10/21/2008 08:32 PM
They seem to like to link homosexuality to paedophilia, too.

It's like, "Help us ban gay marriage. You wouldn't want someone molesting your baby, would you?"
