Joe the Plumber, Meet Barack the Wealth Spender

In a blistering attack of sheer wit and wordplay, Sarah Palin came up with two new characters in the recent Republican "Joe the Builder" narrative.

Another Republican supporter, this one a construction worker who immigrated from Colombia, has stood vocally in support of Joe's concerns this election. Palin has now brought him on board the McCain Truth Train as "Tito the Builder."

The third character in this rapidly spinning yarn is none other than Barack Obama himself, whom Palin, in a pique of intellectual vigour, has named "Barack the Wealth Spender."

  @greedy rich people
Isn't that what you do with wealth? Don't you spend it? Isn't that the point to being wealthy? If you make more money in a year than most make in a lifetime, what the Hell are you saving up for?

And where do you think this money comes from? It comes from people SPENDING what little they have on your overpriced products and services. Get a grip, you elitist assholes.

  Sarah the Words-Twister?
Since we all know Obama's comment was in reference to his goal of improving the American economy so that every American has a chance to gain wealth from it -- not a proposal to take from the wealthy and give to the poor.

The duties of the mayor of Wasilla
This Daily Show clip shows a correspondent going to Wasilla and interviewing their current mayor. It illustrates all the important tasks that "prepared" Palin for the VP of the US.

A 5-year-old can run that town.

It's not really Sarah's fault, she's not all that smart.

But McCain should be ashamed of himself. He tries to play the role of the retired veteran. But the only role I see is a bitter old man who will sell his soul to get elected.

He picked a moron as VP, one that is simply not equipped to run the country.

And now he stands by as this little bigot runs around the country claiming that Obama is best friends with terrorists. And playing the Joe The Plumber story when the media has clearly demonstrated that he isn't a real plumber, he is not called Joe, and would make out better under Obama. Samuel The Con Man is also a tax dodger, to the point that the state has put a lien on his home.

What a sad show of desperation, and what a tragic way for McCain to end his career. Sharing the stage with a racist lying bigot, while running a negative and nasty campaign.

I wonder what other characters Princess Sarah will add to The Land of Make-Believe? I'm sure the Limbaugh listeners must be eating this up, fond as they are of anecdotl evidence, strawmen, and storytime.

That said, the sarcastic jabs at Palin that bookend the summary do inject more than a bit of opinion into it.

  What the hell?
Joe the Plumber, Tito the Builder, Ed the Breadmaker.. are we returning to the Middle Ages under this wannabe despot?

You know how in the Middle Ages and before how people's professions were commonly used in lieu of their last name, like Jack the Blacksmith, Paul the Shoe Maker, etc...

This gets scarier every damn day =\ Bad enough Republicans are aching for a return to McCarthyism, evidently Sarah Palin wasn't quite content with that and wants us back in the Middle Ages.

i think im going to go with valkyrie's title,,,
sarah "bible spice" palin

though ignorance spreader is just as accurate and more applicable in this case.

Well, it might be argued that the bookend at the top of the summary was a paraphrasis of the source article, which states in its first paragraph; "Taking “Joe the plumber” wordplay to an unprecedented new level..."

As for the final paragraph, I would say in my own defence that it does take a certain intellectual vigour to construct this narrative, which is so well tailored to be able to communicate to the crowds she performs in front of.

How about, C*NT?
  by: Jediman3     10/21/2008 10:51 PM
I love all your nickname ideas. I think Jediman's nickname is the closest to a conglomeration of all of her qualities, but is still vague. That perfect nickname is still out there.
by: Mr. Wright     10/21/2008 11:45 PM
No, that's the nickname for Cindy McCain given by her loving husband.
  by: vash_the_stampede     10/22/2008 12:25 AM
Too much adlibbing and not enough information. The article said more and all you did was tell us some smack about 'Obama the Spender' and 'Tito the Builder'.
