A gang described as “idiots” by local police in Northern Italy tried to frighten a shopkeeper into paying protection money by sending him a severed donkey’s head.
The donkey however did not belong to the shopkeeper and did not upset him in the slightest. The wannabes were apparently attempting a copycat extortion racked taken from the popular Hollywood movie The Godfather.
A police spokesperson told reporters ,"But the man didn't know the donkey, he didn't own the donkey, he doesn't care about donkeys. It didn't make sense. It was the work of idiots."
