Child Slain while Trick or Treating

A 12-year-old boy has died from gunshot wounds received while participating in Halloween trick or treat activities in Sumter, South Carolina. His father and brother were also wounded. The victims were shot as they stood at the door of a residence.

Authorities state that the victims were hit by gunfire that came from inside of home. The deceased child's father and brother sustained non-life threatening injuries. Two other children with them were uninjured.

Quentin Patrick, 22, is now in custody and faces charges of murder and three counts of assault and battery with intent to kill. It is unknown if the suspect has an attorney.

Kids getting hurt during Halloween isn't something new. Lots of lunacy on Halloween for a really long time.

  Trick or Treat!

TRICK! Pow, Bang!

Lesson: Never trick or treat at the crack house, especially while wearing a cop costume. This is sad.

I know it is traditional to trick or treat

but it seems that it gets more dangerous every year. I think it began when people were putting straight pins or razors in apples and handing them out. Several children have been hit by cars and then this which I would think is not an isolated incident.

  Too Bad....

They didn't have an extra gun with them. Oh well. :/

When was this "razor" incident exactly? 19 "from a friend of a friend"?

bah.

Holloween is the best holiday America has. The odds of something bad happening to someone trick or treating is no different than simply going outside any other day.

I couldn't afford a Halloween costume this year

So I threw my pecker over my shoulder and went as a gas pump.

  It's Sad

...it was a 12 year old that got killed but the guy was paranoid he was robbed and shot earlier in the year he was just protecting himself...but it is sad it was a 12 year old just trick or treating...

I gave out a lot of candy. I'm 26. I stopped going out for candy when I was 13 and began focusing on the really fun part, scaring the crap out of people. If they can make it past the chills, I never hold back on the candy. I've been paying for the candy from my own pocket since 1995.

  Its a sad thing...

...to imagine what it must be like to live the life of a person who is too afraid of the world to face it with dignity.
