A South Portland man found out the hard way that robbing a local pizza joint was a very bad idea. Wearing a ski mask and brandishing a knife, 29 yo Douglas Niles Jr. tried his luck in holding up the Old Orchard Beach House of pizza.
The employee behind the counter, Jason Snow, was not in the mood. When something distracted both men,the assailant pulled a knife. Only to be beaten twice with a baseball bat,and shoved through a glass door.
Douglas was then chased from the business, and apprehended by local authorities. He was taken to a local hospital to receive treatment for his injuries and put in jail with a bond set at $50,000.
