The 9-8 San Diego Chargers bested the 12-5 Indianapolis Colts in the AFC's first playoff game of 2009. Darren Sproles broke away for the game winning touchdown about six minutes into the overtime.
Sproles had the third-most all purpose yards in playoff history, with a total of 328 yards. The Chargers' quarterback, Philip Rivers, threw for 216 yards and had one pick.
Despite the Colts' quarterback winning the NFL's MVP award, his team will not advance past the first round of the playoffs. San Diego will either face the Tennessee Titans or the Pittsburgh Steelers in the next round.
