Blagojevich's impeachment trial started Monday without the man who's accused of trying to sell a U.S. Senate seat, and pressuring campaign contributors.
The Illinois Governor refused to participate stating that the rules are unfair. Blagojevich spent the day in New York making TV appearances to "proclaim his innocence".
A two-thirds majority vote in the Illinois Senate is required to convict and remove Blagojevich from the office. He could also be banned from holding office in the future.
