Jacksonville Company Releases Caylee Anthony Doll

Showbiz Promotions, a Jacksonville company, has come under fire for releasing a doll inspired by slain toddler Caylee Marie Anthony. The Inspirational Caylee Sunshine Doll, available for $29.99 at cayleedoll.com, is called "a tribute" by the company.

George and Cindy Anthony, the grandparents of Caylee, see things differently and feel outrage over the doll and promotion company. Brad Conway, the lawyer that is representing Caylee's grandparents, intends to take "whatever legal action" he can.

Jaime Salcedo, president of Showbiz Promotions, chose not to sell a doll that looked identical to Caylee as he felt it would be too morbid. Salcedo claims to want to bring awareness to her case and intends to donate some of the proceeds to charity.

	UPDATE:
	The company has now decided not to release the doll. "It was our intention to begin the sale of the Sunshine Caylee Doll at 12:00pm January 27, 2009. As we mentioned to the media in our press release it was very important that we allow the press to present our idea to the public first, in an effort to measure the reaction to our fund raising efforts. As the story developed we also announced that we would be donating 100% of the profits to charity. However, after reviewing the response to our media introduction of the Sunshine Caylee Doll and listening to the advice of the general public. We feel that is it best to suspend the launch of The Sunshine Caylee Doll. While we still feel it is important to raise awareness and raise money to help stop this type of crime from being committed. We feel we can be more effective using more traditional methods. We would like to thnk everyone who made comments or called us to express their opinion. 	I don't get it
	this doll looks nothing like Caylee. It sounds like someone just had a warehouse full of dolls that he needed to unload so he came up with this scheme.
