Israel to Investigate Gaza Graffiti

An Israeli military investigation has been launched into graffiti allegedly left behind in Gaza by Israeli soldiers during the recent military action in the densely populated area.

Graffiti and slogans reading "Arabs need 2 die" , "make war not peace" and "1 is down, 999,999 to go" was allegedly daubed on walls and housed near where alleged Israeli atrocities occurred.

A spokesman for the Israeli Defence Forces told reporters "This is not the way soldiers are educated and trained. It is against our moral values. They will be investigated and those responsible will be punished."

  @Israel
 Why lie? Just say you don't care and that you won't investigate or punish your soldiers. I'd actually have more respect for you if you said that than "we'll investigate".

  Wow!
 graffiti...OMG what's next?!? Wait, what if someone paints 'Johnny loves Mary' on a railroad overpass! Yikes! The horror!

It's paint, people. Get over it!

This is just more anti-semitic blather from Hugo....

  Who cares
 Thousands of civilians and children were killed, and war crimes committed by the IDF, who cares about a few stupid gratifies. We all know how they think. There are countless videos of IDF-Soldiers who talk about "cleansing the place". Investigate the war crimes!

 You both are morons. If you had a clue, you would realize that all that Hugo EVER reports on is anti-jewish BS. That's why I said what I said.

Get a clue before you start flaming, noob.

And again...it's just paint. Get over it! How is this news?!?!?!? Do you see Hugo reporting Graffiti anywhere else in the world?!? No. Why? Because it's not news. Unless of course you hate Jews, then it's news I suppose.

Good Grief, this is lame.

 Guys like you are the reason people turn anti-semitic. Or do you think all these "anti-semites" suddenly wake up one day and discover they hate Jews? There is a reason for it!

 "You both are morons. If you had a clue, you would realize that all that Hugo EVER reports on is anti-jewish BS."

Uhm.. no. If you click on the 'V' by Hugo Chavez's name, then click on UserNews, you will see the first page of his many submissions. Very few are actually about Israel's atrocities and the only reason that he has been reporting more about said atrocities recently is because the Gaza incursion happened recently, thus has spawned a lot of interest across the world.

He's simply reporting the news. You can do the same - why don't you try it? If you feel the other side is getting ignored, why not report stories opposite of Hugo or report on both sides rather than just complain?

 Obviously this is not a story about paint. Obviously, it's a story about hate-filled sentiments apparently or allegedly written by Israeli soldiers in a battle zone where reporters are forbidden.

If this is true, the statements could reveal the attitudes of those soldiers, and those attitudes could explain why they appear to have committed atrocities against Arabs. So this is a story about potential evidence of the hate that motivates brutality, not a story about ... paint.

 NO WAY! Really?!? Soldiers have attitudes? You must be kidding!

You tell a guy to go somewhere and put his LIFE on the line and then you berate him for some graffiti? Surely this is a joke.

@ Vash...Hey man thanks for the free ticket! So I start uploading BS totally one sided on an issue and you have my back on that. SWEET! Thanks!

 Run a long now little boy and join the Nazi party in hell.
Hamas is not innocent in any way. Like all terrorist organizations, they comprised of citizens and usually dress like them. This does not excuse Israel's actions, but at least they have soldiers IN UNIFORM.

  They hide among the population …blah blah

You know this may be true and may have happened on occasions it may not be .Israel has also been documented using human shields in Gaza.
I’m just amazed how people take it for 100% truth because they have herd it on corporate news so many times, also Hamas does have a uniform that’s how we know that over 100 of the Hamas “militants” killed on the first day of the Israeli attacks on 27th December were in fact traffic cops and not military personnel.
At the end of the day Israel has a policy of killing civilians
Hate to upset you but I didn’t make that up it’s a quote …
http://www.democracynow.org/ “I was just quoting the chief of staff—this is thirty years ago, virtually no Palestinian terrorism in Israel, virtually. He said, “Our policy has been to attack civilians.” And the reason was explained—you know, villages, towns, so on. And it was explained by Abba Eban, the distinguished statesman, who said, “Yes, that’s what we’ve done, and we did it for a good reason. There was a rational prospect that if we attack the civilian population and cause it enough pain, they will press for a,” what he called, “a cessation of hostilities.” That’s a euphemism meaning cessation of resistance against Israel’s takeover of the—moves which were going on at the time to take over the Occupied Territories. So, sure, if they—“We’ll kill enough of them, so that they’ll press for quiet to permit us to continue what we’re doing.”

Yeah Hamas are no angles but this “they hide among the civilians” and that’s why Israel accidentally is forced to kill so many innocent people just isn’t true.

 Considering hamas staged the shooting of a kid which started the second intifadah, (reported on SN). Why should i believe or even care about a grafitti.
 by: kmazzawi     01/28/2009 08:59 PM
  @Hugo
 Have you ever reported 1 story that took the side of Israel? BTW, you forgot to post a story about how Palestine violated the ceasefire by firng on Israeli soldiers that were patroling the obrder on the Israeli side yesterday. I guess graffitti is a bigger story.
 by: NG   01/28/2009 09:59 PM
  obrder = border
  sorry
 by: NG   01/28/2009 09:59 PM
  @Frame
 This is clearly an effort to paint the IDF as racist, and it will be plainly shown to be fake upon investigation. The IDF is a well disciplined force, the Gazan children did this themselves, along with lying in the street pretending to be wounded for cameras. They cart them away, and they get up and walk away.

It's all fraudulent A handful of civilians are killed accidentally, and most of them are where they shouldn't be, or throwing rocks or bottles.

The media loves a good sob story, and the so-called Palestinians have been the World media lolcats for ages now, they keep journalists in business. Them and the "Global Warming Scientists" and feminists.

Without these groups, the media would fall silent, except for Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, and Tom Cruise.

Oh, and, of course, their icon they elected by proxy of automata we call an electorate: Barrack Hussein Obama

Secret Muslim(tm) an Savior of America (roflmao yah right)

 by: Big Bird     01/29/2009 04:54 AM
  @NG
 Why didn't you post that story ?
BTW Israel made it clear from the beginning that it wasn't going to keep to the ceasefire (thats why they agreed to their own and HAmas to another) .The attack you refer to appears to have all the hallmarks of an independent action with nothing to do with Hamas.

The Israeli reply of course was interesting , first they shot a farmer who had nothing to do with it then commenced bombing again, and as usual they bomb around midday to get the maximum number of people in the streets ..
The December attacks it were very carefully timed. And, in fact, they’ve told us this. They’ve told us it was meticulously timed for months before the invasion, a very target-selected timing, everything. It began on a Saturday, timed at right before noon, when children were leaving schools, people milling in the streets of the densely populated city, perhaps the most densely in the world. That’s when it began. They killed a couple hundred people in the first few minutes.

  Why the investigation?
 Is the Govt. suffering from writer's block?
Haven't they already said that soldiers were immune from prosecution?
