Israeli Politicians Are Like Dirty Underpants

In protest at scandal-prone politicians and a string of bumbling governments incapable of taking decisive action, a group of activists have run TV advert comparing Israeli politicians to dirty underpants.

The advert claims the country changes one dirty government for another only changing back when the new one is even dirtier than the last .The campaign is being run by Haisraelim a new single issue party running on the February elections.

The Haisraelim party wants the wants 60 MKs be chosen by regional constituencies in a manner similar to the British “first-past-the-post system” Latest polls however show a swinging towards the far right in Israel.

Hey! That's an insult to dirty underpants

As long as isreal continues to elect one dirty terrorist after another, there will never be peace in the Middle East.

Talking of dirty terrorists, anybody know what happened to that their former leader and convicted war criminal Ariel Sharon? (last time I heard he was comatose, hope he suffered for his horrible crimes against humanity).

  nice ad

"It's funny because it's true."

anyway, it seems like this party is half of the knesset to be elected via direct election, and half to be proportional representation as it is now.

It sounds like it would be more like the australian system then, but with the single house instead of two. We have a style of proportional representation in the upper house, and a single continuency representative in the lower house. Interesting...

It definitely seems more workable than pure proportional representation.

I wonder how this would affect a one state solution with palestinians involved. (Single state solution is the only thing I can see working.) The regional constituencies could be gerrymandered I suppose.
