Gay Marriage Legalized in Vermont

Beginning in September, marriage will be allowed for gay and lesbian couples in Vermont. Both houses overrode a veto from the governor on the issue, making it the first state to use legislative action, not the courts, to pass such a bill.

Opponents are launching a public relations counterattack on TV in the Northeast US and Iowa. The National Organization for Marriage said it will show how it undermines "the core civil rights" of proponents of straight-only marriage.

In the ad, a worried woman is told: "I am a parent, helplessly watching public schools teach my son that gay marriage is OK," then an African American says "There is hope: a rainbow coalition … coming together in love to protect marriage. Join us."

I love that view point -- "their civil rights are infringing on our perceived civil rights and we want theirs revoked"

  I don't understand
why gays would want this right. I have been pushing to have hetero marriage banned since my capture.

The downfall of Rome, and soon the downfall of the American empire."

yup had nothing to do with east and west rome being governed seperately one becomming the Byzantine Empire and the other becommming nearl all of europe except the byzantine empire, germania and armenia.

other reasons were christianisty taking over rome, lead poisoning along with financial and military problems caused from extending their empire so far.

"Why are those two men saying their married, and that kid is their son?"

"Nevermind that son. Also, there's no such thing as alcohol, so let's never talk about that. You just keep your head down here in the sand with me."

If ur interested in Roman history 'Barbarians' by Terry Jones is a really good read. Shows the history of Rome from the 'barbarian' view point. He has a good jab at the christians while he's at it too.
