It is now known that once-chief financial officer David Keller, formerly of Freddie Mac, has committed suicide by hanging in the basement of his home. Kellerman's roots in the company started as financial analyst and auditor.
Neighbors even noticed a deterioration in David's health, citing drastic weight loss and a generally tense and stressed personality. All seemed to stem from the immense pressure of his new position as CFO for Freddie Mac, where he oversaw a staff of 500.
Before his death, David was working on the company's first quarter financial report due by the end of May. The federal government oversees all the books and must give approval for all major decisions. Currently, federal prosecutors are looking into FM.
