Australia: Police have vowed to lay animal cruelty charges against the person who left a Port Jackson shark on the doorstep of the Warrnambool Standard. Newspaper staff couldn't think of any reason they would be the victims of a 'shark attack'.
Police attended the scene and discovered the creature was still alive. They put the shark in the police van and, keeping it wet using a bucket borrowed from McDonald's, drove it back to the ocean where it was released.
"I said to the policewoman at the counter: 'I'm not sure how to explain this but there's a shark on the front door of The Standard and it's still alive' and she said 'what?'" said the local resident who reported the animal's presence to authorities.
