Ghost Captured by BBC Cameraman

Chris Sandys, a BBC photographer, was taking pictures as he covered a story on the Edward Jenner Museum in Berkeley, Gloucestershire. He was amazed to find he photoed a ghostly apparition of someone sitting in a chair.

Edward Jenner was the mastermind behind a vaccination for small pox and was in the forefront of immunology 1823. Sandys was taking a panoramic photograph of the attic in the museum when he found the ghostly image on his camera.

"You can see through a doorway what looks like a figure reclining in a chair, only there is no chair there. Who knows whether it is Jenner himself? There have been stories of ghosts at the Edward Jenner Museum,” said Sarah Parker, museum director.

  I messed up...

Edward Jenner was born in Berkeley in 1749 where he spent most of his career as a doctor in the town before he died in 1823.
So I messed up there! Hopefully someone would be good enough to correct this error. Sorry!

It's dust that has a been stirred up in the ambient light.

This is pretty evident if you see the original panoramic image. the dust swarm extends beyond the door...

  Just the brain

trying to recognise and match patterns of dust IMO.

  I am..

not saying I believe or don't believe in ghosts I am on the fence of the don't know people. To say they defiantly do not exist is assuming to know everything, and I am not one of those people, as long as it is being investigated I am looking and waiting for answers. And when I say investigated I do not mean that ridiculous fake most haunted team.

As for this picture I am not sure again, dust and light could have played their part in this, but I sure find that place interesting, and was really interested the the doctor that once lived there and finding out the facts about him, I just adore history!

  Well, since

souls aren't real, and ghost aren't real... and when you die, you're dead... I'd say there's a very good explanation that doesn't involve an active imagination.

"To say they defiantly do not exist is assuming to know everything"

I get what you're saying, but I'd have to disagree that having an absolute belief on the subject of ghosts, makes you arrogant. Thousands of photographs taken each day, billions of dead people over the course of time. Photographs should be filled with with hazes of white by now =P Or are you only doomed to sit around in a recliner for eternity if you do something great for humanity, like help develop a smallpox vaccination?

It's pretty cool that the realm of the dead has a furniture store though. And convenient that, when we do come back as a ghost, we keep the exact form of our human shells, including appendages.

  not what you think

I didn't see anything that looked like a ghost in the picture. In the picture with what people were calling a ghost, I saw a difference in lighting, some reflections, dust, humidity and an alien molesting a unicorn but no ghosts.

dont subscribe to this stuff.

  by: elijah     05/24/2009 06:32 PM
Because of our left brain side

I believe, we see patterns of faces & shapes out of anything. When I first seen this I thought dust, but then it does kinda look like a person, & then I remembered the study of how the two sides of our brains see the world vastly different.

For instance take a look at this http://wtfurls.com/... you see a man golfing & hitting the water with his club, yet the water makes a pattern of a ghostly image. Creepy.

Man i use to love and fully believe all this Ghost nonsense... When i was 12... I don't even believe in the "holy ghost" no more :)
People usually taking pictures of the inside of old, creepy looking museums are usually looking for paranormal activity and/or fail to find anything so create a fake image depicting a so called "ghost" when it's really smoke/dust/light rays hitting or in front of the lens.

  It's a ghost.

Nothing spooky about it. Just another soul in another dimension of the countless dimensions that occupy any one space.

Well, it's good to know that, in other dimensions, old men love to sit around in recliners just as much as they do in this one.

hehehehee...

@all
I just done a pixel test on said Picture ..And its a fake, and before any ask's. A pixel test checks wether the pixels are all the same size. And the ones around the Said Ghost are not the same as the outer ones so..Pic is a fake. I would have thought the BBC would have done this before the Published it..Seems like there getting as bad as Sunday Sport and The Sun...

I took a major dump this morning and when I happened to glance in the toilet just before I flushed it, there was George Bush staring up at me with a big shit-eating grin on his face.

Now I know what you're thinking. You're thinking this entire story is a crock of you-know-what.

Would I feed a nice person like you a ration? Damn right!
