EATR: Pentagon's New Robot

The Energetically Autonomous Tactical Robot (EATR) will consume biomass for energy consumption. Robotic Technology Inc., based in Maryland, has developed this robot to survive without refueling and servicing for years.

The engine powering the EATR is called the Waste Heat Engine. This engine acts a lot like a steam-powered engine in that it burns fuel and causes water to cycle through and generate electricity.

The various applications of the robot include, but definitely are not limited to: ambulances, offensive vehicles, communications, and recon. The Pentagon is researching the various applications that can be used on this robot's platform.

sounds like a plan...

graveyards are a waste of space (so are golf courses, but the people there are only half dead...lol)... thousands of people die every day might as well generate energy now rather than wait a few million years to extract the fossil fuel.

quick build a corpse eatting power plant we have a HUGE surplus of dead bodies in store... and thats just OUR dead bodies, what about the dead bodies of all other animal life that can power it also... dead bodies are one powere source that we'll never run out of... infact there only one other use for the dead humans/animals and plant life; fertilizer.

its an energy source in nature, so why not in robots?

The agricultural/ecological destruction that could do. What made them build something like that when you got solar power?

  Lets hope they don't..

make them self replicate.

With all the energy & money spent on this I could see them otherwise using all of it to strengthen relations. Its like living with a family who can't get a long with each other so you decide to spend your time creating a robite instead. Such wise decisions.
