World’s Longest Golf Course

In an attempt to promote tourism, the Australian government helped fund the 842-mile, par 71 golf course. Nullarbor Links is set to open next month, with the first hole in Ceduna, South Australia, and ends in Kalgoorlie, in Western Australia.

The course features holes from existing courses as well as some built just for the new course. A round on the new course will cost you $40 and take about four days to complete.

Sorry, but what is the point of this? I can understand the two mile long 'football' game in Europe, but this seems a bit over the top.
