Sanchez to be Starter for Jets

Mark Sanchez has been named the starter of the New York Jets by Head Coach Rex Ryan today.

Mark Sanchez, who is a rookie from USC, started 16 games for the Trojans last year and was drafted 5th overall in the 2009 NFL Draft.

"This comes with a lot of responsibility," Sanchez said on Wednesday. "This is something I've always wanted to do."

  This guy any good?

By which I mean, of course, "This guy worth drafting in the lower rounds in your fantasy league?"

I thought that you were in teh Sports department of your publication. I thought that to be strange since you never post summaries or comments about sports. what's up with that?

Sorry, that wasn't really an answer. I have to confess -- between the high school level and NFL, football players sort of disappear into a black hole for me. Maybe it's because my college didn't have a football team, but I've never followed college football.

I don't think you should draft him in fanatsy. After playing my team (The Ravens) last Saturday he look horrible. If you want him I say wait until the last round and us him as your backup QB
