A 2-year-old from Kamloops British Columbia wandered off from his family while they were camping in the Yukon. Young Kale was gone for over 25 hours in the brush before he was found with his new furry buddy.
Searchers from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and from the local communities of Ross and Faro joined in a massive search for the lost child.
A helicopter using FLIR (thermal imaging camera) found a heat source and sent a team to investigate. The rescue team located Kale with Koda, a runaway dog that had been missing for over a week. Koda's owner, Kim Dolan, let Kale keep Koda.
