High School Streaker Faces Criminal Charges

St. Francis, MN - A 17-year-old high school student is facing criminal charges after streaking at a high school football game. Besides indecent exposure and fleeing from police, the student may be charged with 5th degree criminal sexual misconduct.

For the lesser charges, he could get a jail sentence of 90 days and/or a $1,000 fine. If charged and convicted of sexual misconduct, the student could have to register as a sex offender.

During the arrest, over 500 students surrounded the 2 arresting officers, with some students trying to obstruct the police. However, the high school principal said, "[the] officers did a fabulous job maintaining order and controlling the situation."

Wanted to post this when it happened, but I've been busy.

From ( "I don't like explaining to my 5-year-old why there is a naked boy running across the field. It needs to stop."

From ( "School officials received calls from 'disgusted parents,' complaining that they brought their child to a 'G'-rated event and 'Look what it turns into,' ... 'No, it's not a kids-will-be-kids matter.'"

From ( "Of late, it seems as though we have had a number of our students attempt to gain publicity by doing things that are contrary to the educational mission of our high school. Typically, when we work through the consequences for students, they seem surprised at the severity of the school consequence for their actions and the criminal charges that may occur as a result of their actions... What a student might think is funny at the time could result in school consequences and criminal charges that might become a part of their permanent educational and/or criminal record."

  oh please
streaking is fine, we're sheltering society so much no wonder we see more and more sexual deviancy.
it was just a prank, happens all the time, if it was at a kids concert or something along those lines it would be inappropriate .. but it was a football game.
people grow the F up and stop shaming the human body.

The comments you had are funny nicohlis, I especially like the first one as the person acts like it happens every time they go out. Besides that person should just say that he's being a bad boy or something that person acts like they have to write a novel about it to their child.

Oh and to add on top of what securityunion said the usa is number one in internet porn. There are 1.6 porn sites in the usa for every 2 people. On top of that we outweigh the number two by twenty four times. ;p

Being from the South, I can understand the mentality of these ridiculous type affairs. But, hell they're in MN so whats the deal? Honestly, really? What the hell has this world come to? Sad, that the hypocritical people point fingers and blame are the same people who started traditions that are looked down on today. My father included. God Bless the USA and lets put our children on the Sex Offender list before they leave high school, for something I did myself. That will show them. Ignorant, Thick headed, Two faced. Oh yea, yet another PC event to move our families further away from each other. Give it 10 years.

  Right of Passage!!!
I guess these parents don't know anyone who streaked in high school, and were all perfect angels. Personally I never had the nerve to do anything like this, but it was done at least twice a year. We need to let kids do something. To press charges for something like this is just wrong. There is no such things as a perfect child.

Minnesota Statute 609.3451 - Criminal Sexual Conduct in the Fifth Degree ( A person is guilty of criminal sexual conduct in the fifth degree: if the person engages in nonconsensual sexual contact; or the person engages in masturbation or lewd exhibition of the genitals in the presence of a minor under the age of 16, knowing or having reason to know the minor is present.

I doubt he'd get charged with criminal sexual misconduct. I think they'd have trouble making the "lewd" aspect of it stick (unless the kid made simulated sexual movements while streaking).

However, there is something to be said for the fact that he WAS intentionally exposing himself to minors. If somebody threw off their trenchcoat at a playground and ran around naked in front of the kids (not touching them or himself, not isolating any child, etc), people would be calling for all kinds of justice.

Because I'm sure so many people have no idea what the first sentence of the source was talking about, enjoy (

I remember when the streaking fad was very common. Ray Stevens even had a hit song called "The Streak". Girls used to streak fast food joints. LOL It was a passing fad. Now it's child porn, according to the law.

  People are just pathetic now.
Retarded! Sure you streak, you get caught, you get a fine. That's normal and that's how it goes with most pranks of this caliber. Sex offender status due to streaking? Come on!

What the hell is there to explain to your kids?

It's like the story about those brass trailer hitch covers in the shape of testicles. Some politician said "how do I explain to my daughter what those are?!".. Well if you're incapable of explaining that some "redneck wants a fake set off testicles" on his truck just say its "a trailer hitch cover"...

Same thing here.. if you can't explain to your 5 year old that it's a prank just say the boy is being dumb/silly/whatever and be done with it.

People need to grow up and stop being so pathetic.

  Genderless children
Stories like this make me wonder how long it will be until it is law that all children must be raised genderless, like that Pop kid in Sweden. We must save them from the evils of their own genitalia!

again violence is better than nudity?
Football is a game based on a high level of violence, and that is ok for kids to learn? That violence in any form is ok, and to be encouraged. But heaven forbid you may have to sit down with a child and explain to them about their body. Most parents are simply pathetic. "here kids, have a constant supply of violence, learn its socially acceptable to cause pain and suffering" "teach you about your body you say???, NEVER that will lead to intelligence and acceptance of yourself, and we cant have that now can we!"
