NASA is testing a new rocket design for the first time in 30 years. The Ares rocket, a replacement for the aging space shuttle, is due to lift off on a test flight on October 27.
The test will carry several dummy sections to simulate load on the rocket, which will test stage separation and then crash into the ocean.
This is the tallest rocket to exit the Vehicle Assembly Building since 1975, when the Saturn 1B was assembled for the Apollo-Soyuz mission.
