Most Gun Owners Think Obama Will Try to Ban Gun Sales
Fifty-five percent of gun owners believe President Obama "will attempt to ban the sale of guns in the United States while he is president," according to a Gallup poll. The poll's finding may explain reports of increased sales of guns and ammunition.
New reports suggest that ammunition manufacturers simply cannot keep up with demand, while noting that the president has made no proposal to ban sales of guns or ammunition. In fact, Obama's only action on the issue has been to relax gun controls.
In May, Obama signed a bill allowing loaded guns to be carried in national parks. However, Gallup's poll shows that for most gun owners, the belief that Obama wants to try to ban gun sales is quite real.
Oh please anyone that thinks Obama wants your guns step into reality. I know that the ammunition companies are enjoying the full time all shifts going and still not being able to catch up, hell they can hardly keep up with making a certain amount set aside for LEO.
Polls or no polls(this time) it is pretty clear what is happening and what some have fears of happening are based in solid proof by the manufacturing jobs that are running all shifts and the price oof ammo currently. That said, I do not take a poll as the only answer it just the opinion of select group of people and can be slanted depending on who answers, in what area the questions are asked, and if the person called is even telling the truth or jerking you around.
Republican Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger just signed a bill in Calif to make it near impossible to get handgun ammo. You don’t have to ban guns if you can just ban ammo and turn guns into useless clubs.
The only difference between citizens and serfs is the ownership of weapons.
If he tries to do that, then I think there will be some states that succeed the USA. But I say let FL, TX, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, and New Mexico become their own country. Call the place UHA- United Hicks of America.
They said the same about Clinton. Yet he proceeded to push for and sign the AWB into law, while diligently backing state level bans across the country.
Will Obama sign a ban during his first term? No. bans usually come during the second term since they can't be rehired.
That is a good point to bring up, but I don't even know if Obama will have a second term or not. There is gonna have to be some proof of a lot of change and on specific things, like MORE jobs not just saved jobs, that right now isn't looking too rosy. I'm not saying I don't like the man because I do, I just don't expect him to be right on everything or even keep half of his promises because we are in the bottom of the muck right now.
Saying that, if he does pull it off and people are back to work and spending money so new places or even old ones can open up then I don't see how he couldn't get another term. As for the gun laws we all will need to keep an eye on what is happening and NOT freaking out because the mixed man moved in the White House so buying enough bullets to own the town. If we notice he is changing we will just have to get ahold of the right people and make a massive stink over it. I think everyone should be able to own a gun as long as they are mentally safe, knows how to properly use the weapon or take safety classes and practice on the range(s) and pass a criminal background check. That said, it is crazy what Arnie is doing out there in CA. I don't see it happening here anytime soon because we are such a hunting state with most of the winter tourism is.
I mean having your ammo is never a bad thing, but the way some of these people are stockpiling one might need to look into a a Musket.
It also has something to do with right wing fear mongers filling internet forums and email boxes with their brainless babbling..."They're taking our guns" , instituting "death panels" and hes a non-American Muslim illegally elected to the Presidency. Its just more proof of how gullible the Neo-Tards really are.
...conspiracy paranoia has me casting a new critical eye on things, including myself. The "glen beck" style conspiracy about Obama and socialism and all that crap seems so disconnected from reality, while the criticisms of Bush were often based on his [administrations] actual actions. But is that just revealing my bias? I'm sure the tea partiers would say the opposite to me (that glen bases his stuff on fact). While, in my mind, it all seems clear it's not, lol. Yeah, that was my point....wait, what was?....uhg
This may well be Obama's most successful effort at saving jobs....
@Kaleid: I like it and with your consent I will use it in the future: "There's a conspiracy theory mind-virus in USA".
@val: Good point.
@shaohu: Being a native Texan who now lives in Louisiana, I wish I could find fault in your comment. The best I can offer is that not all of us are that way. In fact, I have one friend in Texas and two in Louisiana who don't think that way. ;P
@Monstrr: I concur. Honestly, I am growing weary of it all. There are enough truths about Obama's politics to fear without having to fabricate stories.
@tuogh: You sir, are consistently passive aggressive. Might I suggest a career in politics?
shaohu: WOW... Between Texas and Florida and only half of the people you know are rednecks? You must come from one of those hoity toity intellectual type families. ;)
