Comedian Soupy Sales Dead at 83

The host of the long-running TV show "Lunch With Soupy Sales," from 1953 has died at the age 83.

His longtime friend and manager, Paul Dver, said: "We have lost a comedy American icon. I feel the personal loss, and I also feel the magic that he had around him being gone. That´s a much more severe loss than a loss of a friend."

With pies in the face being one of his staples on his popular children´s show, Sales later went on to be a regular on many TV game shows. He had recently fallen at an Emmy awards show and developed serious ailments after that.

I was thinking about putting this one up before I got involved with comments. This is something I was mentioned on another thread kind of. Here is a very great artist that shared his humor with everyone. Other celebs went and put their face in a pie and BIG names not like the stars today where you are famous just for breathing.

We used to have game show network and I would watch the really old game shows and watch my cousin. Soupy always made it fun.
