Bob Griese Forced to Apologise for "Inappropriate" Comment about Montoya
 

Bob Griese, a former Miami Dolphins quarterback and current ESPN broadcaster, has been forced to apologise after he made an "uncalled for" comment about Colombian NASCAR driver Juan Pablo Montoya.

The comment was said during a promotion of NASCAR´s Chase for the championship coverage on the network which listed the five top drivers in the race based on points. When Chris Spielman asked where Montoya was, Griese said "out having a taco".

ESPN made a statement regarding the comment, saying: "ESPN has spoken to Bob and he understands that his comment was uncalled for."

 Maybe he was eating a taco? Would it have been less offensive if he said-"he may be on his coffeee break" as Montoya is from Colombia. Bottom line: tacky remark but I have heard worse.

 Now what the hell would they do if Taco Bell was his sponsor? All this PC shit as gone to far. Juan Pablo isn´t mexican so it was a stupid joke, unless he was really going to grab a taco. Taco could also mean a few things and what if he was having a quicky with his woman?

Patty Moise had a hell of a lot harder time and no one gave a damn about that. Wendell Scott had a hell of a lot harder time also.

So he apologized and they are going to make him apologize again on Saturday night during college football. Let´s not even go with the fact he was kissing Montoya´s ass with that best driver in NASCAR crap. He´s a fairly good driver and has done better in the sport than many others that have tried to or talked about coming from Indy and F1.

Plus with him apologizing again Saturday will only bring more attention to the comment.

 Racism is racism. If it had been Bill Lester, instead of JPM, there would´ve been a huge uproar over this.
Is it because it was not a black athelete that it just gets buried? Or, is it because it is a hall of fame quarterback?
Rush Limbaugh made racial remarks, apologized, and still lost his job on MNF, and to this day, is hounded for it. Bob Griese should get the same treatment.
