Australia: A monster shark believed to be approximately 6 metres (almost 20 feet) long is lurking off the Queensland coast. The existence of the creature came to light when a 3.5 metre shark was discovered almost bitten in half.
The presence of such a big shark in the area has ignited debate over shark nets which protect beaches but entangle turtles, whales, dolphins, and large fish. According to a charter fishing boat operator there are a lot of sharks around.
"Whatever attacked and took chunks out of this big shark must be massive. I´ve heard about the big one that´s lurking out there somewhere. We´re all being very, very cautious," said Ashton Smith, a 19-year-old surfer.
