"Jungle Woman" Refuses to Eat

Cambodians have dubbed Rochom P’ngieng the “jungle woman” after she was caught in 2007, naked and dirty, trying to steal food. She could only make "animal noises" and often would throw away her clothes and try to run back into the jungle.

In September, 2008, Rochom escaped back to the jungle, but occasionally emerged from the wild for food. Sal Lou claims to be the father of the jungle woman, saying that in 1989 she disappeared into the jungle when she was nine years old.

Sal Lou has recently appealed to public charities to pay for treatment for Rochom since she has not eaten in a month. Lou said that they always have to hold Rochom's hand or else she will take her clothes off and run back into the jungle.

  Some are saying:

that jungle woman has mental disabilities. But how can they really tell since she grew up in the jungle, probably raised by wild animals just like in the Jungle Book. Of course she would seem to have some mental problems if you took someone that only knew nature and trees and natural things, and then forced the person into a cruel, wasteful, industrialized, cess pool of a society.
I don´t blame jungle woman for constantly wanting to escape to the jungles...I say Sal Sou should forget about curing her "mental disabilities" and just let her run through the jungles naked like she had done her whole life...I wish I could just run through the jungles naked for the rest of my life...singing songs with bears and the monkey king and escaping tigers and crafty serpents.

I was expecting you to burst into song there. :)

Hew should leave her go, it is cruel expecting her to live as he demands.

  If

the woman is mentally ill then i think it´ll be difficult to get her back from the jungle.

  throughout history

there have been cases of feral children or adults such as this. They never take well to civilization, never speak more than a few words, and frequently express a desire to return to the wild (or they just run away). Let them go, that´s "home" for them. I don´t blame them, half the time I want to run away and I was raised here!

She is better of going back to what she knows.

  I´m with majority here

I don´t see what good any mental health treatment will do for Rochom now. If there ever would have been a time to get her help, they should have done so when she was 9 before she wandered into the jungle. Let her live in her habitat and if you want to help her leave some food when she shows up.

She isn´t a woman that society will accept, she is happier in the jungle or she would stay with her father. Hell he might just want money for his own reasons how do we know?

I have always thought that reports of a ´Bigfoot´ could actually be related to our ancestors and were people who lived in the wild and had children, and so on.

  We should follow Hollywood´s lead...

If they can take Howie Mandel out of the woods and turn him into a member of society, they should do the same for her. She may also foil Christopher Lloyd´s plan to steal her inheritance.

failed to leave George out in the woods when he was just a pup. America certainly would have been better off today if they had done that.
