Guard Tortures Inmates, Arrested

Marco Antonio Ibarra, the chief guard at the prison of Tijuana, Mexico, was arrested in Culiacan where he had been hidden for a year for avoiding charges against him. Last year Ibarra beat a prisoner, 19, to death.

The chief guard wanted to find out how prohibited items like drugs and cell phones got into one of the cells. For it he ordered the guards to take ten inmates into a storage room for beating them. This sparked riots for three days.

The result of the uprisings was the death of at least 23 inmates, including two Americans who were killed by the guards.

  Now there´s punishment

If he winds up in the same jail that he worked at, the inmates will be very glad to see him.

  Cranky,

i don´t think so Ibarra will be taken to the same prison unless there is a separate one for him, also i think they don´t want to get through similar riots.

  Hmmm

Where´s the moron or morons who were saying that torture happens all the time, all around the world, and is never punished? I want to say this person claimed that to think torture wasn´t accepted as routine by the rest of the world was to be hopelessly naive. And yet this torturer was hunted down like a dog in Mexico.

  Ben,

i think most people become guards for taking advantage of their sadistic tendencies.

  Nah

He´ll be acquitted of those charges. Mexico dose have some what of a judical system but he´s in such a high up possition he´ll probably stay in it.

played poker with a prison guard

He was a big SOB and he told me that he would beat and abuse prisoners for fun. Said it was pretty common in prisons (he had been a guard in more than one prison). He also said he was always a bit nervous about possibly seeing one of the inmates he abused on the outside. All three prison guards I talked to in the USA were racist POS´s who loved their job because it meant they got to beat up minorities with no repercussions.
