Scientists Find Hidden "Inner Statue" Inside Famous Egyptian Sculpture

Italy: Ethnologist Franco Crevatin and cosmetics history expert Stefano Anselmo claim that they have discovered a hidden 'inner statue' inside the 3,400-year-old bust of Queen Nefertiti using a cat scan.

The hidden statue's face has less pronounced cheekbones, shallower eyes, an imperfect nose, and laugh lines near the mouth. It is thought that it is much closer in appearance to what Nefertiti actually looked like than the finished sculpture.

The pair have created a computer image of the new face. "Reproducing the face of a queen who is surrounded by such mystery required months of painstaking, detailed work," said Crevatin.

  I always suspected it

That bust looked a little TOO perfect. All I know is, if I was an Egyptian queen, I would´ve insisted on them producing something that looked like that, whether it resembled me or not.

I couldn´t find any pics yet either. I suspect they haven´t been released to the public yet.

  Hmm

I would want them to make the most accurate depiction of me possible. That way thousands of years later people would be marveling at this ancient statue of _me_, not an imaginary person who vaguely resembles me.
