Troupes of baboons in Cape Town, South Africa, a popular holiday destination, have become increasingly more aggressive of late, opening car doors and jumping through car windows in search of food.
It is estimated that 420 baboons, which are a protected species, travel in as many as 17 gangs along the roads of South Africa, stealing food. They associate cars and people with food, and most tourists don't know that Baboons are not harmless.
"Tourism is going to go through the roof, and this equals exposure to naive people and rich pickings," said Justin O'Rain of the University of Cape Town. "People who stop the car, they're going to get raided."
