Tallest Building in the World: 800 Metre (2,625 Foot) Burj Dubai to be Official Opened Today

Dubai: Five years of building and $1.1 billion in investment will culminate in the official opening of the Burj Dubai by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid later today.

Standing some 800 metres (2,625 feet) high with 160 floors, the tower takes the title of the world's tallest building from the Taipei 101. The Burj Dubai can hold some 12,000 people.

The tower houses 1,044 luxurious (and expensive) apartments, 37 stories of business/retail space, 160 hotel rooms, a number of swimming pools, a library, valet parking, a cigar club, and a fitness centre.

Ubarikiwe. WEll said.

These people have managed to find a way to go into 21st century by delving back to their roots as slave drivers.

Indians, Africans, Russians have all contributed into Dubai´s superfluous style, in return, they have met the most wage deficit for these kinds of jobs..

Shame on these Arabs, who used human beings for their gains.

  Farewell, Burj Dubai.

That tower is "gone."

In its place is the Burj Khalifa...

  I wonder how many workers got killed

In these countries, a fall protection harness is more expensive than sending back the coffin woith a Philipino.
While Europe pays for the survival of the muslims in Palestine, Soudan, etc - the Middle East countries waste money on frivolities.

Get your fact straight buddy.

@Slave.

They are UNITED EMIRATES. Abu-Dhabi just handed Dubai 10 billion dollars.
If anyone is wondering how tall is this building check out this and compare http://english.aljazeera.net/...

  Source is inaccurate

The building is 828 meters tall (2,717 feet) and cost $1.5 billion, according to the developer´s chairman.

I wonder how long that building will last. It looks like a major target for terrorists. Any bets?

  @all

Wow look at all the hate,
@ baraka Can you prove your statements
@ skcusswentrohs can you prove your statements without using foxnews or any other white raciest sites.
@ P0ubelle any proof or is this something you pulled out of your ars or some Israeli propaganda site
Bet you all also supported Bush´s senseless war and murder of 3.5 million Humans and call the murderer a savior and a hero!!!
Here is an Idea!!!
How about commending them for an accomplishment and assisting them to over come religious radicalization with trust, understanding and colaberation rather then fueling them with your white Nazi Israeli hatred to get more radicalized.

Now thats not fair. Just because I have said the truth about Dubai, you are calling us haters. I know some of the comments are from haters, which I have tried to bring to light as well.

Dubai is a slave driving nation. It uses Indians, Filipinos, Africans to build their Towers and pay them pennies. If you complain about Dubai you may be jailed, or thrown out of the country very, very fast.

Read this, it is from your favoured Media http://english.aljazeera.net/...
