The Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC) in the United States has demanded that Google and the National Security Agency (NSA) reveal details of an announced collaboration between the Internet giant and the mysterious government agency.
Marc Rotenberg, the executive director of EPIC, said: "The NSA has a long history of bending the rules when it comes to privacy. There is a genuine reason to stay on top of this." Google would not comment on its collaboration with the NSA.
Instead, the company confirmed it was "working with the relevant US authorities" to investigate cyberattacks in December that originated in China and may have been a result of a Chinese government directive.
