Hundreds of people have been murdered in Nigeria, following religious violence in the country. The 200 people killed were Christians and unarmed. In January, 300 people were killed in violence. Most of them were Muslim.
Human Rights Watch has called for an investigation into the murders, pressuring President Goodluck Jonathan to add security protection for those living around the city of Jos, in the centre of the country.
The US embassy called for an investigation and prosecution of those responsible, saying that it would show Nigerians "they are respected and protected".
