Dead Man Impounded by Police

New York police mistakenly towed away a dead man who was to be transported to the airport. The stained glassed minivan that the man’s body was in was parked in front of a funeral home.

NYPD spokesman Paul Browne said there was "nothing to indicate it was more than just an illegally parked car."

Funeral home owner Paul DeNigris said he was "a wreck" after he found out the van was missing on Monday in Manhattan. After paying a fine, DeNigris was able to transport the body. He is fighting the issue of the fine.

You would think the funeral home would have its own parking out front?

  Maybe...

the owner will think about that now.

New York must be bad for parking?

  no parking

cmw2007, the odds are there was no parking. I have been to a few funerals in NYC, and you need to find your own parking. There is very little private parking in NYC, and if you have it you have to pay a nice hefty fee for it.

did have free parking here if you booked into a hotel, now it starts for around six ponds a day up. I think that is a cheek when you are paying for an hotel.
