It´s a Giant Test of Skill

For a marketing stunt, Carlton Draught (Beer Company) plans to build a giant skill-tester in the grounds of the Melbourne Cricket Ground they´ll call it the "Magnatron". Normally full of cheap plush toys. This one holds a 1.5-tonne ute (pick-up truck).

Standing about 10 stories tall and controlled by a 30m crane holding a magnet weighing three quarters of a tonne that is capable of Picking up the ute and other prizes including TVs, BBQs and ATM holding $5000 Cash.

Operating like a regular skill tester game with simple directional buttons, Prizes will be lifted up above the enclosure and then lowered onto a special "drop zone" next to the giant game.
A crane supervisor will monitor the Game for safety.

  haha

How is a tv going to react to a "drop zone"? The magnet should be okay.... as long as you dont move the tv around real fast. they must attach it to some iron thing or something anyway i think.

@Verm ´Ute´ is Aussie for Pick-up truck except ours are cooler
http://www.ozracingwrap.com/...

And they are putting all prizes in Steel boxes the magnet would actually rip the roof of a car if you tried to pick it up. I assume that the prize in the machine is a substitute of the one you get, its cross promoting the Toyota Hilux the calls its self unbreakable in its ads so I think the ´Drop Zone´ might me quite a Drop. it is going to be setup at the AFL(football) grand final.

  Magnets..

Used to destroy monitors and TVs... I haven´t had a newer LCD that I wanted to risk messing up lately..but hopefully they are using proxy prizes in that case.

As far as the "drop zone," it sounds like the things are being lowered to the ground.. I doubt there´s much of a drop at all.

its is in Australia you Flaming Poofta!

and as you haven´t put anything towards the site shut the F@#k up and post and article with proper English if your g-string is so tight your going to cry because of poor grammar and lack of comma´s.

In Case you didn´t notice there was bugger all posted the other week, Step up and do something, other than making other people think posting for F-wits like you isn´t worth the hassle.

  Almost had it!

Imagine... You pick up a brand new 2011 Chevy (or whatever Truck you like), but just by the tip of the tailgate. It just barely holds on with its supermagnet by the ball hitch. It gets to the top, and when it rocks to move into the drop off zone, you see your precious prize plummet to ground and explode into thousands of pieces. Would make a nice tube video :)
