Pakistan Praise CWG Efforts

 

Despite a television blackout in Pakistan, the Pakistani government showered praise on New Delhi´s organization of the Commonwealth Games opening ceremony. The event was plagued by allegations of corruption, poor construction and hygiene.

Aqil Shah, vice-president of the Pakistan Olympic Association quoted International Olympic Committee president Jacques Rogge "India has emerged as a contender to host the Olympics."

Although the hype around the preparation of the Games was full of problems, the opening ceremony was one big hint that the games will be a success.
