Iraqi forces have fired a surface to air missile at a new target yesterday, aU-2 spy plane. The missile exploded close enough to the plane for the pilot to feel the shockwave from it.
The spy plane normally flies too high for missiles to hit it, but apparently the Iraqis have been modifying them in an attempt to hit a slower and easier target than the normal fighter jets they fire on.
Us officials says Iraqis must be frustrated to the new targets but that "Clearly its an easier target -- you hit one of these puppies, you don't have to worry about a HARM missile coming down your throat."
