Partial Solar Eclipse in Europe and Middle East

The first solar eclipse of the year could be admired in a few places in Europe and the Middle East.

It was greatest in North Europe. In Sweden, spectators could see over 80 percent of the sun´s disk blocked by the moon.

Millions of people across Europe and the Middle East observed the solar eclipse. "Europeans won´t get another opportunity to see the sun covered to this extent until March 20, 2015," Sky & Telescope reported.
