20 Percent of US Flights Canceled Due to Storm

Almost 20 percent of all US flights today have been canceled in consequence of the severe winter storm that hit the area ranging from New Mexico to New England.

In total, airlines had to call off 6,116 flights today, the CEO of a flight-tracking site said. Already earlier this week 111 flights until Thursday were canceled as a precautionary measure.

As the situation is expected to worsen at many key airports such as Chicago´s O´Hare, those numbers are probably going to rise.
