Ex Airline Agent Confesses to $1m Fraud

Victoria Scardigno, a former sales agent of Continental Airlines, pleaded guilty of fraud yesterday. She confessed to have embezzled $1 million by using a fake voucher scheme.

She sold over 2,000 fake travel vouchers for $500 to $600 each. If found guilty, Scardigno faces up to twenty years in jail.

"Victoria Scardigno┬┤s low-rent Ponzi scheme took advantage of unsuspecting air travelers who thought they were buying vouchers for plane tickets when they were really buying worthless pieces of paper," a Manhattan Attorney said.
