Feds Raid Medical Pot Farm

The DEA, FBI, BATF and local officials raided at least 10 medical marijuana growers and distributors in Montana today. Chris Williams and a dozen employees were handcuffed at gunpoint and held for questioning.

The warrant called for the confiscation of marijuana, hashish, drug paraphernalia, computers and other electronic storage devices, cell phones, firearms, transportation and customer records, transaction records, cash, jewelry and vehicle titles.

About 1,700 plants worth $500,000 were ripped out of pots and hauled off in blue tarps. A Federal Officer asked Williams if he knew the operation was federally illegal. So far only one employee has been arrested on an outstanding warrant.

  All the politicians lie
The lie varies depending on the politician but you can bet that if their lips are moving there is probably a lie coming out.

What does Obama have to do with it
i read the full source and didn´t see any mention of Obama or anything regarding a lie. I´m a bit confused by your headline.

  the good ol boy game

  Time for an Education....
For those of you that have not kept up on the News here is what Obama claimed in 2009 and he also made the same promise during his campaign.

Either Obama is no longer the President or the DOJ has gone rouge. As far as I know he´s still the President and that is where this buck stops. He is in direct control of the DOJ and has direct command over Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. which makes him responsible for this lie. Now he can either fire Holder and pay restitution to the growers or he can hide his head in shame. OBAMA LIES!

So the government claimed in 2009 that they would "effectively end the Bush administration’s frequent raids on distributors of medical marijuana". Fair enough, thanks for clarifying that Valk.

The fact remains that the "Obama Lies" part of your headline is in no way contained in the article source - it´s editorialising and whether or not it is true it belongs in the comments section, not the summary of the article you have cited.

As for the Obama Lies thing itself, I don´t believe that we can know one way or another. In 2009 they said that "the Justice Department’s enforcement policy would now be restricted to traffickers who falsely masqueraded as medical dispensaries and “use medical marijuana laws as a shield.”" (from your nyt link). In the source article it doesn´t state whether this raid did or did not fall into this category; it states that "one of the co-owners of Montana Cannabis says he was not given a reason why about 1,700 plants were taken Monday.", "Agents asked if he knew the operation was federally illegal, Williams said, but would not give him any information.", "A spokeswoman for the U.S. attorney’s office in Montana said she could not comment on the raid, one of at least 10 statewide.", "“There were no ‘whys’ in the warrant,” and "“A detailed explanation will follow,”. So my question is: how do you know Valk that these raids weren´t carried out on "traffickers who falsely masqueraded as medical dispensaries" - especially since it clearly states in the source you provided that there is no information on this?

  More for your mind.....

Keep reading, get educated, there of dozens of these articles out there. This isn´t the first raid nor will it be the last on a MEDICAL MARIJUANA FACILITY. This has been a continuous assault on growers, distributors and patients. There has been no attempt by Obama to put an end to this or keep his word. Either Obama reins in his dogs of war and apologize for his actions or he can suffer the fallout. I have no problem outting ANY lying sack of crap politician from either party.

I think it´s a little much to say he lied
What is clear is that his promise is being broken. The question at hand is by whom is it being broken? The title seems to be saying that this is an Obama plot of some kind. Maybe Holder lied. Maybe some other bureaucratic middle man made that decision.

You can´t seriously expect Obama to be making every decision in such a huge bureaucratic mess.

Mis-leading Editorializing Title.

by: THE ACTUAL STORY   03/17/2011 04:23 PM
  From CNN:
"In a move that drew fire from medical marijuana advocates, federal authorities raided 26 medical marijuana dispensaries in 13 Montana cities, saying they have probable cause to believe that the businesses are involved in large-scale trafficking."

  @Medical Marijuana
Medical Marijuana as it exists today is a total joke. I am no debating the benefits of THC in the battle against serious pain, but I believe that smoking or ingesting marijuana in it´s plant form is ridiculous! We don´t give people with cancer poppy plants to smoke! We give them morphine, codeine, or an array of other opiate pain killers derived from the poppy plant. If they want to use marijuana for medicinal purposes, it needs to be formulated into a pure THC based solution with proper dosages in pill, injection or patch form! Plain and simple, these people are drug dealers getting people high for a living.

Here is the problem.

Lets say Merck comes up with a drug that can Restore appetite, mildly help with glaucoma and help with Chronic Pain, but is suspected to cause cancer ( causes lung deterioration faster than cigarettes ( will prevent learning during drug efficacy time ( loss of long term cognitive ability ( increase susceptability to certain types of cancers ( can worsen COPD ( and a whole host of over side effects that are just too numerous to list.

Do you think that drug would have made it out of the preliminary test phase? HELL NO.

So, lets say that a group of people at Merck decide that its really awesome and its soooo gooooood you know... Ahhhhhhhh... Its from nature... Umm.. Dude.. And decided to start producing it without clearly contacting their lawyers and finding out precisely what classification that drug would have, you guys would be ALL over them.

Consider that as what happened

None of your links are working.

Has anyone else here watched someone die of cancer? I just did last year. My best friends mother died, it took her over 6 months in severe pain. In the end even morphine injections really had no effect. If there is anything that would help someone in intractable pain I have no problem with them using it, legal, natural, it really doesn´t matters. If I was on a jury in a courtroom and had to decide the fate of someone using any drug to lessen their pain I would never convict them under any circumstances, not even if they were buying heroin off the streets. To do so would be inhuman. Our government needs to get its priorities straight and end the war on the people.

Have I had somone die of Cancer?
Why yes, yes I have. A couple actually.

How about Keto-Acidosis from Diabete´s. Check that one off too. I even found her body.

What else? Parkisons. Yup. Tick that one off.

The problem comes down to a simple point. Yes, if someone was terminal, then yes, let them go nicely. The problem is that medical pot is prescribed for "Chronic Pain" (I´m sure someone named it that with their tongue in cheek)

In Montana, there were 28,739 enrolled patients. From the previous year 52 had passed away.

So, if we derive that 52 out of 28,739 people were using because they were terminal, that is about 0.1 % usage for terminal.

If we look at the people who are using because of Cancer, Glaucoma or HIV, all 843 of them, that means the percentage of people using for the legitimate purpose comes up to a mind numbing 2.9%

At roughly 3% of the people using it for care during terminal illness I´d say it´s being used for other reasons.

  @gbestwick & @theavenger8
@theavenger8 .. they already synthesized a few compounds, they don´t work, do your research.

@gbestwick .. the information is false, propaganda, and I will attest to COPD because I have it and marijuana is an bronchial dilator and it was the number one prescription for asthmatics which I also have for hundred´s of yrs even before america was america, you can see many prescriptions cataloged in historians books and museums
  by: key2000     03/18/2011 01:05 AM
(Wrong link for the last one... COPD related)

So, let me get this straight... The research scientists, despite have repeatable methods, peer reviewed research and actual science applied to finding out the truth, you´re going to resort to anecdotal evidence? Oh GAWD...

And as for being an effective bronchodilation agent..
  by: gbestwick   03/18/2011 03:18 AM
yes most of the propaganda research is backed by special interest (big pharm companies) thus wrong. All the sciencedaily junk is backed by big pharm companies and the othe link too.

And about the COPD, and once again special interest (big pharm companies) works in the making spreading mostly lies and somewhat just a tad bit truth. But as for a patient (COPD) marijuana works really good. When I was a kid with my asthma I noticed I could breath better but there was a few adults said I was lying, and as it turned out marijuana is a bronchial dilator (and was prescribed regularly before pharm companies became the machine they are) and works very well, and long term use of inhaling THC keeps the lungs conditioned breathing better.

Until you actually have something like asthma or COPD and try marijuana, you will never know :)

  Science Daily Junk?

I suggest you read the footnotes and go and look at the articles that these news prints are based upon.

Like the first link was produced from the paper:

"Rajinder Singh*†, Jatinderpal Sandhu†, Balvinder Kaur†, Tina Juren‡, William P. Steward§, Dan Segerbck‡ and Peter B. Farmer†
Cancer Biomarkers and Prevention Group, Biocentre, Department of Cancer Studies and Molecular Medicine, University of Leicester, University Road, Leicester LE1 7RH, United Kingdom, Department of Biosciences and Nutrition, Unit of Molecular Epidemiology, Karolinska Institute, S-141 57 Huddinge, Sweden, and Cancer Biomarkers and Prevention Group, Department of Cancer Studies and Molecular Medicine, University of Leicester, Fifth Floor RKCSB, Leicester Royal Infirmary, Leicester, LE2 7LX United Kingdom"

*OBVIOUSLY* the Univeristy of Leicester is a known hotbed of doing "Big Pharmas" bidding.

Do actual research. Look behind the news, and READ THE PAPERS so you understand the science behind it. THEN come and comment.
